Migrant workers experience safety hazards

During the session, workers participated in hands-on experiences such as the hard hat impact test, hoisting operation simulation, and falling object drop scenarios. These interactive activities aimed to raise awareness about construction site dangers.

This facility is the first practical training center in the construction industry specifically designed to prevent the "six major injuries": falls from height, object impact, collapse, mechanical injury, lifting accidents, and electric shocks. By simulating real-life safety incidents, the experience allows participants to feel the consequences of unsafe behavior firsthand.

"It's better to have one real experience than a hundred lectures," said an official from the relevant bureau. "Our goal is to make workers aware of potential hazards and shift traditional safety education—often just verbal instructions—into immersive learning." According to the official, many migrant workers lack safety awareness. For instance, some wear helmets carelessly or even refuse to wear them due to discomfort. However, after experiencing the helmet impact test, they realized the importance of wearing a helmet, with the correct usage rate reaching 90%.

According to reports from China State Construction Engineering Corporation, the training program is short but highly effective. The hidden danger rate in project management dropped by 30%, and the number of unsafe operations among workers decreased by 50%. This demonstrates the significant impact of experiential learning in improving workplace safety.
