Curtain cleaning tips

There are many decorative elements on curtains, such as crystal buckles, silk crepe, lace, embroidery, hollowing, buckles, and straps. In the past, improper washing methods—like hand washing or using a washing machine—could lead to problems like shrinkage, tearing, fraying, and loss of shine. It's important to follow the right care steps to preserve the quality and appearance of your curtains.

The correct washing process starts with identifying the fabric type. For example, velvet should not be washed at all, as it can develop a "yin and yang" surface effect. If it gets dirty, only a soft brush should be used in one direction, and never rubbed directly. A curtain-specific detergent should be sprayed onto the fabric, not rubbed in. If the curtain has embroidery, check the shrinkage rate of the non-embroidered parts. If it’s made of materials like yarn or silk, it may be safe to wash, but keep in mind that the shrinkage could be similar to pure cotton. For delicate fabrics like wool or silk, dry cleaning is the only recommended option.

Next, remove any detachable accessories before cleaning. Items like lace, silk, or other delicate trims should be taken off and cleaned separately to avoid damage. After washing, they should be professionally reattached to ensure a neat finish.

Cleaning curtains is more than just a quick wash—it’s like giving them a skincare routine. It involves not only cleaning but also maintenance tasks like repairing loose threads, checking the curtain track for smooth operation, reinforcing lace, ironing, and adjusting the length based on any shrinkage. These steps help extend the lifespan of your curtains significantly. As a general rule, it’s best to clean your curtains once a year to keep them looking fresh and well-maintained.

What Is an LED Track Light?

An LED track light is a spotlight fixture mounted on a linear track system. The track provides both mechanical support and electrical connection, allowing the fixture to be moved, rotated, or tilted along the track without rewiring. Most LED track heads use COB LEDs or SMD LEDs and come with reflectors or lenses to control beam angle and brightness.

LED track lighting systems are available in:

  • Single-phase (2-wire), three-phase (4-wire), or magnetic low-voltage tracks

  • Surface-mounted, suspended, or recessed installations

  • Dimmable, smart, or DALI/0–10V compatible variants
