High-risk enterprise rescue "battle"

Emergency responders demonstrated their skills in a realistic simulation of handling dangerous gas leaks, showcasing their professionalism and efficiency. The drill included checking equipment, rushing to the accident site, searching for injured individuals, controlling the leak, and providing immediate medical care. Recently, 35 teams and over 200 rescue workers from 181 high-risk enterprises across Shijiazhuang participated in an emergency response competition organized by the city’s Safety Supervision Bureau. This event marked the first time that such a wide range of companies and participants were involved, highlighting the growing emphasis on safety and preparedness.

The competition officially started at 8:30 AM. “There is a gas pipeline leak between the hot windmills in our factory. An employee has been poisoned and may have suffered trauma. Please respond immediately and organize an emergency operation. The current wind direction is northwest, with a wind speed of 2-3 levels!” As soon as the alarm was sounded, the teams in uniform and wearing hard hats quickly checked their equipment and rushed to the scene. Upon detecting the gas alarm, the commander made a swift judgment, set up the perimeter, and issued clear instructions. Team members then entered the hazardous area according to their roles, searching for victims, sealing the leak, and providing first aid.

The reporter observed that within four to five minutes, the rescue team had successfully blocked the simulated leak point. After temporarily treating the injured, they handed them over to medical staff for full care. The drills also included scenarios like gas pipeline leaks and liquid ammonia pipeline leaks. One team completed their task with energy and precision, demonstrating their readiness for real emergencies.

This large-scale competition saw participation from 384 high-risk enterprises in the city, with over 132,000 employees taking part. Each company equipped themselves with more than 5,000 pieces of essential rescue gear, including air respirators, light and heavy chemical protective suits, and other critical tools. Such efforts reflect the city's commitment to improving emergency response capabilities and ensuring workplace safety.
