Element Six launches Diamond PureOptics, a full diamond optical technology product

Element Six, a world-leading producer and supplier of synthetic diamonds and other superhard materials, announced its new technology development in diamond optics, Diamond PureOptics. The all-diamond solution is inspired by the anti-reflective structure of the moth eye, providing higher reliability and higher power density for high-power CO2 laser systems.
Diamond optical windows typically contain an anti-reflective film to minimize reflection losses while increasing laser output power. However, the mechanical properties and thermal properties of these films are far less than the inherent properties of diamonds, which results in an increase in thermal and mechanical performance losses as the optical power density increases.
Element Six replaces these films with diamond-structured surfaces to reduce reflection losses. Diamond PureOptics technology is perfect for extreme ultraviolet (EUV) applications, with laser damage thresholds much higher than anti-reflective (AR) film windows (equivalent to 10 times), and emissivity (less than 0.5%) and transmission rate (high) At 99%) is equivalent to it. The Diamond PureOptics optical window for 10.6 micron wavelengths has been designed, manufactured and field tested and is now available for sale.
