New breakthrough in new technology for removing aluminum impurities and refining titanium tetrachloride

Recently, Panzhihua City Yunda Titanium Company made a major breakthrough in the new technology of refining and refining titanium tetrachloride. Titanium tetrachloride refining process mainly uses copper wire impurity removal and aluminum powder impurity removal technology. The impurity removal of aluminum powder is lower than that of copper wire, and the sewage is easy to handle. In the world, aluminum powder removal technology is mainly used. Institutes such as the China Nonferrous Metal Research Institute, Guiyang Aluminum Magnesium Design Institute, and Tianjin Haotian Chemicals Co., Ltd. have carried out research on aluminum powder impurity removal technology, but no breakthroughs have yet been made. China still uses copper wire to remove vanadium.

The Panzhihua City Yunda Titanium Company started a laboratory test and a pilot study in October 2007. In December 2007 , an 10,000-ton aluminum powder miscellaneous demonstration production line was established. At present, the aluminum powder removal technology is basically opened. More than 10 tons of refined titanium tetrachloride was produced. The product was tested by the Panzhihua Iron and Steel Research Institute and the product quality reached the production requirement of titanium sponge.

    The demonstration line is currently the only domestic aluminum refining and refining titanium tetrachloride production line. In the next step, the company will invest a lot of funds in industrial production and automatic control technology research.
