LED lighting design concept

There are two main design approaches for LED lighting systems. One was introduced by Philips in 2008, focusing on environmental needs and creating specific lighting scenes. This concept is known as "scene lighting." The other approach came from Casio in 2009, aiming to enhance human experiences and emotions through lighting, which is referred to as "mood lighting."

LED lamps can be categorized into two main types. The first type is used for general illumination, such as indoor and outdoor lighting. These typically use white LEDs and are designed to provide functional lighting. The second type is used for decorative purposes, often incorporating red, green, blue, and other colored LEDs. These decorative lights are usually controlled by an IC chip to create dynamic color-changing effects, making them ideal for special events or ambient lighting.

Both scene and mood lighting have their unique applications. Scene lighting is commonly used in commercial and residential spaces where specific lighting conditions are needed for different activities. Mood lighting, on the other hand, is more about creating a particular atmosphere, often seen in entertainment venues, restaurants, and home interiors. As LED technology continues to evolve, these lighting concepts are becoming more sophisticated and widely adopted in various settings.
