Solid wood flooring has many advantages, it looks high-end, comfortable and durable under normal conditions. However, their thermal conductivity is relatively low and they are easily deformed. So it is not suitable for geothermal environment, easy to crack or shrink.
Therefore, if you insist on buying solid wood flooring for floor heating, you will need to buy special treatment before it is deformed. There are two special treatment methods, one is high-temperature carbonization, that is, the floor blank is heated at a high temperature of 160° C. to 230° C., so that the wood is not so easily wetted in the air. The second is to use paint to completely enclose the entire wood, that is, to paint the outer surface of the wood, including the backboard and the mouth of the wood, so that the wood is not exposed to the air.
You can pay attention to the floor brochures, or ask the salesperson to see if there is any above-mentioned treatment. Of course, it is advisable to take a serious look at whether the real thing is what the salesman said and there may be other problems.
Two: Bamboo flooring is really not heat deformation
When buying a geothermal floor, it is ultimately sold on different types of floors. Just as a woman buys cosmetics, she is always promoted and bought a whole set. The geothermal floor that I usually hear is reinforced flooring and engineered wood flooring. For bamboo geothermal floors, I don't know whether it can be heat-resistant and not deformed.

Bamboo flooring usually has two structures: one is an ordinary bamboo floor (sequentially arranged); the other is a three-layered bamboo flooring (vertical arrangement). Judging from the amount of deformation, the deformation of ordinary bamboo flooring is smaller than solid wood flooring, but it is much larger than solid wood flooring and laminate flooring. Therefore, in geothermal environment, the use of ordinary bamboo flooring is a greater risk.
If it is a three-layer structure bamboo flooring, the dimensional stability of the three-layer solid wood composite flooring is very similar, and it can be considered as a solid wood composite floor and can be used as geothermal heat. If it is carbonized bamboo flooring, the stability will be better and the risk will be relatively reduced. However, it is not recommended that the bamboo flooring be used for geothermal heating, because the risk of surface cracking and shrinkage cracking will be higher than that of reinforced and solid wood flooring.

Does the thickness of the floor affect heat conduction? In fact, there are some impacts. The thinner the heat conduction, the faster it will be. However, because geothermal heating is continuous heating, it has little effect. No matter whether the thickness is 8mm or 12mm, it can be used in geothermal environment. In contrast, 8mm laminate flooring heat conduction faster than 12mm, but in a continuous heating environment, the difference between the two heat conduction is not obvious; 12mm foot feeling is better, the cost is higher.
For places of continuous heating, in Beijing and other places where the room temperature is not very cold, if the heating system can guarantee the basic requirements of room temperature, you can choose a slightly thicker floor, 12mm-15mm are no problem. If you are in a particularly cold place such as the northeast, you can consider 8mm thick floor, so that the thermal conductivity is better.
