Preparation of NiCr Alloy Powder with Low Oxygen Content

Beijing Mining and Metallurgy Research Institute recently completed the preparation of low-oxygen NiCr alloy powder. In this study , the technical problems such as high oxygen content and poor sphericity of NiCr alloy powders prepared by gas atomization were solved by adopting a post-treatment process of adding trace B elements and acidic solvents to the alloy. The chemical composition of the prepared NiCr alloy powder is uniform. The coating prepared with the developed powder has uniform metallographic structure, no cracks, delamination, and separation of the coating and the substrate interface. Coatings hardness, tensile strength and maximum oxide diameter and other performance indicators have reached the international advanced level. The low-oxygen content NiCr alloy powder products developed have been applied in batches on various components of military products and civilian products, particularly on the XX new aero engine, and can be used as an alternative to imported products. The annual demand of low-oxygen content NiCr alloy powders at home and abroad is very large, the application prospect is very broad, and it has significant economic and social benefits.
